Christian Yelich hits for the cycle for the second time against the Reds this season.

At the beginning of the season, the Marlins dismantled their entire team. From former MVP Giancarlo Stanton to the evil empire in New York, all the way to Yelich to Milwaukee. When the Yelich trade hit the presses, most people thought it was an okay move but nothing special. Boy were they wrong.  With the cycle on Tuesday, Christian Yelich came to the front of everyone’s mind when thinking about the MVP race!

The National league is tight when it comes to playoff races and the MVP race. So far, well before the dust has settled Yelich is leading the league in slugging and OPS. Hitting above .315 and 31 home runs. All of this while playing center field in one of the biggest ballparks in the NL. It is shocking that it took this long for the baseball world to catch on to this guys talent. He has been the most consistent hitter in the National League all season and is deserving of the MVP so far.

If you watch the video, it is clear that Yelich is a baller. He can rake and has one of the sweetest swings. Like mentioned earlier, Yelich was traded in the off-season from the Marlins. Likewise, Christians teammate Lorenzo Cain is in his first season with the Brew Crew and is having an MVP caliber comeback season. Cain is doing it a bit more quietly than Yelich but don’t sleep on either one of them.

Christian Yelich’s second cycle versus the Reds on Tuesday is the first time in history that a player hits two against the same team. While only Aaron Hill has hit two within 11 days of each other, Yelich’s feat is still great. Both of his cycles came within 20 days of each other and both against Cincinnati
