Ohtani on his first All-Star appearance: “I definitely want to be back here”

Los Angeles Angels outfielder/pitcher Shohei Ohtani has been taking Major League Baseball by storm. After the American League scored a 5-2 victory over the National League in the 2021 MLB All-Star game, Ohtani reflected on his first appearance at the event.

“I definitely want to be back here,” he stated.

Ohtani was the starting pitcher for the American League and also participated in the Home Run Derby. Although he was upset by Juan Soto of the Washington Nationals in the first round of the derby, Ohtani was the star of the festivities and the outpour of support continues for the Japanese sensation.

“I’m just simply thankful for all of the cheers and all of the support I get,” says Ohtani.

Asked if he will partake in the derby again, Ohtani replied “I definitely want to participate again. For that to happen, I need to have a good first half of that season.”
