Trevor Bauer Reacts to First “Sticky Test” from MLB Umpires: “I Don’t Have Anything to Hide”
Watch as Trevor Bauer talks first “sticky check” following loss against Padres.
In 3-5 loss against the Padres, Bauer threw 6 strong innings for the Dodgers, allowing 3 runs while striking out 10.
“I just have the worst homerun luck in the league”, Bauer said after allowing all 3 runs on homers.
“Every little mistake seems to leave the yard off me. I guess just hope it can’t last all season”, he finished.
Bauer reacted to being checked for substances on the mound after new enforcement rules by the league.
“I’m just here to win baseball games”, he told media. “I don’t have anything to hide, I just go pitch. I don’t know what the media is writing, I don’t pay attention to guys really, so I don’t have an opinion there.”
In addition, Bauer reacted to stacked NL West with Padres and Giants alongside the Dodgers.
“I think we knew it was gonna be a difficult division, I don’t think anything has changed. I don’t think anyone’s surprised that the Padres are good. I don’t think anyone’s surprised the Giants are good.”
Bauer also talked about tough matchup in start against San Diego’s stacked roster.
“They got a lot of talent in their lineup, they got a lot of talent in their pitching staff. They’re a good team, and they absolutely kicked our a** from the intensity standpoint. They came to play, and we didn’t.”
