Cam Reddish Advice to Zion Williamson on NBA Debut: “Just Have Fun With It”
Atlanta Hawks rookie swingman Cameron Reddish spent last season playing his trade as a member of the Duke Blue Devils. Notably, he was played with the phenom that is Zion Williamson and had some great advice for his friend. Fanatics View caught up with Reddish the other day in Atlanta to ask what he would tell his former teammate before his official NBA debut.
“I’m sure he’s excited, I’m excited for him, and I wish him nothing but the best.” Cameron is clearly aware of the hype surrounding his friends debut.
“Just have fun with it, he knows that, he knows what to do.” Reddish stated with a smile. The rookie seemed shy to give his friend any public advice. However, Zion showed in the pre-season he knows exactly what to do.
In four pre-season appearances, the number one overall selection averaged better than 23 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Over the past twenty years, no other rookie has finished their pre-season averaging greater than 20 points per game. Zion is making waves before he even officially steps foot on an NBA floor.
Reddish then declared why his teammate Trae Young deserves to play in next month’s All-Star game. “Our best player, best scorer, obviously, he’s passing the ball very well as well. He’s been consistently an All-Star, so I feel like he deserves it.”
