Carlik Jones’ game-winner sends Radford to the Big Dance

Radford University is hardly the first program that comes to mind when college basketball fans think of March Madness. Despite their low profile, the Highlanders punched their ticket to the Big Dance after downing Liberty University 55-52 earlier today in the Big South Conference Championship.

Freshman point guard Carlik Jones came up clutch in the game’s final possession and drained an ice-cold pull-up 3-pointer as time expired to give the Highlanders the victory. His confidence was undeniable and Radford will need more of the same from Jones as they advance to the National Championship bracket for the first time since 2009.
