Dirk Nowitzki on Luka Doncic Becoming a Star, Luka Playing Point & Blocking Shots vs. New Orleans
Dallas Maverick 21-year veteran Dirk Nowitzki shares his thought of rookie sensation Luka Doncic growing into a star right before our eyes. Luka is playing like a multi-season veteran Dirk said instead of a 19-year-old rookie.
Nowitzki talked about his health on a week to week basis. During the first eight weeks of his rehab process he was able to participate in the drills but since then he has been working extremely hard to get back into the swing of things moving forward.
Luka Doncic was the primary point guard in the Mavericks big lineup against the Pelicans recently, while Jalen Brunson started at the shooting guard position and Maxi Kleber at the power forward position to counter the Pelicans big lineup that featured Anthony Davis and Julius Randle.
Nowitzki spoke about the couple blocks that he had during the game.
“They were more like strips more than blocks” Nowitzki said “but will take it. I had to help out on the defensive end where ever I can. I wonˈt be like Max jumping up there and getting those blocks. That has always been on of my strengths with quick hands and trying to stripe balls and get steals that way.”
