Charlotte Hornets center Dwight Howard was traded to the Brooklyn Nets Wednesday.

One of the most dominate centers of this generation, Dwight Howard, has been traded for the third time in the last three years.

Charlotte Hornets owner Micheal Jordan and his team thought it was best to trade their leading man on the boards for center Timofey Mozgov, two future second round picks and cash, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Now after another double-double season, Howard is part of the team he desired to be on six years ago. The Nets get a double-double machine and the Hornets get off Howard’s contract, which owes him $23.8 million over the 2018-2019 season. With this trade in place, it has allowed the Nets to free up two max deals spots on their roster in the 2020 off season.

It being his sixth team of his career, moving teams after a season seems to be a reoccurring theme in Howard’s time in the NBA. Before he was a Hornet, the eight time all-star was on the Atlanta Hawk’s roster. The Hawks traded Howard after one season to Charlotte for Marco Belinelli and Mason Plumlee; both of those player have never come close to reaching an all-star appearance.

Over the years, there have been many reports of how the three time defensive player of the year fun, loving personality on the court does not mesh well with others. Well, they have continued into his time even with the Hornets’ players.  Maybe the destination he desired so long ago will finally give Howard the home he has always wanted or he will sign somewhere else, seeing as it is the final year of his contract.
