Jalen Green Reacts to Trash Talking Cade Cunningham After Dunk: “It Happened. It’s Basketball.”
The Houston Rockets dropped their 10th game on the young season. The Rockets are young in general. Their number 2 overall draft pick Jalen Green spoke to the media about their slow start to the season and where they go from here.
The 19-year-old rookie hates to lose, but he understands the bigger picture. He described the Rockets’ start to the season as “exciting and frustrating at the same time.” The losing streak of 9 games is frustrating at the moment. Green looks forward to what it can turn into for excitement. “We’re a young team, we got a lot of talent,” he said. Although this was his best offensive output of the season, Green looks to improve as the season progresses.
The game against the Detroit Pistons was highly publicized because of the match-up between the 1st and 2nd overall picks in the draft. Jalen Green got T’d up after shouting at said number 1 pick Cade Cunningham. Green threw down a thunderous dunk after driving baseline past Cunningham. Green said he was just “fired up” trying to get a win. Unfortunately for Green, Detroit’s rookie got the last laugh.
The first-year shooting guard sees the Rockets as a difficult team to defend when they move the ball. He believes they played too much iso ball in the second half. When he is on the bench in the 4th quarter he appears “antsy”. He wants to win so bad it kills him to be on the bench. Green looks to make his teammates better and improve his own game as the Rockets continue their rebuild.
