Last month’s Kyrie Irving trade saga was full of drama, but devoid of many answers. We all knew he wanted out, we just weren’t quite sure why.
Yesterday morning the microwave scorer opened up on ESPN’s First Take as to why he asked for a new start elsewhere.
While he walked around the question a bit, he made a few things clear. The decision was about his career and his career alone, and he doesn’t care how anyone, let alone LeBron feels.
Though he doesn’t care what James thinks, he told First Take hosts he appreciates, “the best player on the planet.”
Unfortunately for Irving, praise alone might not stop the King from posterizing him on his quest for another NBA crown.
