Paul Millsap Reacts to Marcus Morris Scuffle & Leading Denver Nuggets to Epic Comeback Win
Millsap on the altercation: “We’re not going to be bullied and we’re not going to be intimated”
The Los Angeles Clippers were on the verge of sending the Denver Nuggets back home and out of the bubble. The Nuggets, comprised of a young and very talented core, were in the same position in the first round against the Utah Jazz and fought back from 3-1 to advance. Now, it’s a very familiar sight, as a late run from the Nuggets helped them close out game 5 with a win to force game 6 against the Clippers.
Denver faced a 16-point deficit in the first half, and a 15-point deficit in the 3rd quarter with 9 minutes left to go. Paul Millsap led the chargeback after a quick scuffle with Marcus Morris that seemed to ignite a fire in the young team
“They started running their mouths a little bit,” said Millsap. “It kind of woke us up. I think that’s what started it. Then everybody just started getting involved in the game.”
Millsap scored 17 points, dropping 14 in the 3rd quarter to lead the comeback.
“Finally found my rhythm. I think I left my rhythm back in Denver,” jokes Millsap. “I kind of found it. It kind of woke me up. I was able to get in my zone and just get out there and play.”
