Garry Harris trusts the Nuggets advancing in playoffs has been no fluke.

The Nuggets became the first team in NBA history to overcome a 3-1 series deficit twice in the playoffs. Denver was in deep water and on the verge of elimination against the Jazz, followed by the Clippers. They will have another tough test when they meet the the No.1 Western team Lakers in the Western Conference finals Friday.

As was the case during the 3-1 deficits, Garry Harris says the Nuggets shouldn’t be counted out against Los Angeles.

“We don’t really listen to outside noise,” said Harris. “We know who we have here, we have a very talented group. And we play together, we stay together; the sky’s the limit. We gonna enjoy this for a bit. But now it’s time to get ready for the Lakers and see what we can do.”

It’s played out differently for the Nuggets this postseason, compared to last year’s playoffs. As they went to game seven against the Trail Blazers in last year’s Western Conference semifinals, but fell short. It’s a bitter reality which Harris says has only driven the team as they look to stay hot and advance into the finals.

“I’m happy for us to get that win,” said Harris. “We got to game seven of the semifinals last year. And we lost, we didn’t like that feeling. So it’s good for us to get that win, go to the Western Conference finals. And now it’s time for us to slide back in.”
