Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash spoke to the media following his team’s blowout loss to the Warriors. Coach Nash talked about what went wrong and where the Nets fit in the league right now.

The Nets ran into the buzzsaw that is the Golden State Warriors. The game was competitive early, but the Warriors erupted in the third quarter. When asked about their performance, Nash claimed: “I don’t think we had our juice tonight.” He was not happy with the way his team performed. Giving up offensive rebounds, showing low energy, and playing too much isolation were his primary concerns.

The Warriors showed the short-handed Nets some different looks on defense. They implemented both a box and one and a triangle and two defense. These looks allowed them to focus energy on the Nets’ key players. Coach Nash believes these looks caused the Nets to lose rhythm and flow. These alignments affected Kevin Durant’s timing especially. He looked anxious to shoot which contributed to his off night. Nash wants his team to be less stagnant going forward.

Nash was brutally honest when asked about how his team compares to the top competition in the league. He said, “I just don’t think we’re in that category yet.”

Nash is proud of how his team has performed on defense this year. He knows offensive flow will come with time. His team has not shared the court that much and is still missing key players. Coach Nash wants his team to learn a lesson and grow from their poor performance on Tuesday night.
