Dan Hooker Answers If Conor McGregor Can Be the Same After Brutal Leg Break vs. Dustin Poirier
Watch as Fanatics View’s James Lynch talks to MMA fighter Dan Hooker following McGregor vs Poirier 2.
Hooker gave Lynch his reaction to McGregor’s round 2 loss after sustaining a broken leg in the fight.
“A pretty wild way to end it”, he said. “I didn’t see how bad the break was until those photos started coming out, and he just looks like captain hook and he’s hopping on the nub. I was like ‘man, he’s full-on broke his leg’. At first, I was like ‘what?’, was he gonna be able to recover in the round, but nah, that snapped…”
“It’s a pretty dangerous way to approach the fight”, Hooker said on McGregor throwing kicks early against Poirier.
In addition, Hooker gave his timeline of return for McGregor after a broken leg.
“That’s up to him”, he told Lynch. “Fairly straightforward injury to recover from.”
According to Hooker, Nate Diaz vs McGregor will be his first fight back in UFC.
“For me, I think they’ll do Diaz. That fight’s another one that kinda has to happen. That’s like a good fight to get him back on track”, he finished.
