Deontay Wilder on fight with Dominic Breazeale: ‘If he dies, he dies.’
Deontay Wilder quoted Ivan Drago from Rocky before getting to his open workout.
Deontay Wilder gave the impression of being merciless on Dominic Breazeale once they get in the ring on Saturday. Before Wilder got down to business at the Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn, he had some strong words for Breazeale.
“If he dies, he dies.” said Wilder.
“The Bronze Bomber” appears to have adopted the role of Ivan Drago from Rocky when it comes to Breazeale. The same words were spoken by Drago regarding Apollo Creed, whom he literally beat to death. Only that was in a movie.
It’s no secret that Wilder (40-0-1, 39KOs) is anxious to get his hands on Breazeale (20-1, 18KOs), as he makes the ninth defense of his WBC title at the Barclays Center. Their animosity dates back to two years ago, when they got into a brawl in a hotel lobby.
By quoting Drago, it is clear that Wilder will have violent intentions in the ring against Breazeale come fight night.
