Errol Spence questions why Canelo and GGG are avoiding Jermall Charlo
Errol Spence took a stand in pushing Jermall Charlo’s cause for a big fight at middleweight.
Errol Spence knows what it is to call out the big names, only to have them avoid him. WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo (29-0, 21KOs) has faced the same feat when it comes to Canelo Alvarez, and Gennady Golovkin.
Following Charlo’s victory over Brandon Adams (21-3, 13KOs), Spence made sure to voice out the concern.
“Canelo said he wanna fight the best fighters,” Spence told Charlo, from the crowd through a microphone. “GGG (Golovkin) said they wanna fight the best fighters. But it seems like they don’t wanna work with Jermall Charlo. What you gotta do to get this fight made?”
Even if the question wasn’t asked by someone from the media, Charlo was more than delighted to answer it; and give his take on landing the big fights.
“Canelo gotta fight me sooner or later,” said Charlo. “He cannot retire without fighting me. I’m one of the best out there. 29 and 0, 21 knockouts, you know he gotta fight me sooner or later.”
