Tevin Farmer feels that there has been excuses coming from Gervonta Davis’ team for a potential fight.

Tevin Farmer has held a feud with Gervonta Davis for years now, dating back to 2014. The two super featherweight champions have exchanged verbal shots through social media, as well as during interviews.

While the feud has created much anticipation for a unification bout, they still have yet to settle it in the ring. Farmer (30-4-1, 6KOs), who holds the IBF title; says it is Davis’ team who is stalling a potential fight.

“He (Davis) might want the fight, but the handlers know that he’s not ready for it,” said Farmer. “They not gonna make it happen until they think that maybe I get old or something. But I’m still young, I’m young as hell. I started boxing at (age) 19. And I’m not really taking punishment.”

Davis (22-0, 21KOs) holds the WBA (Secondary) version of the title, and is signed to Floyd Mayweather’s stable; Mayweather Promotions.

Farmer’s promoter, Eddie Hearn; also stated that he sent Davis’ team three different offers for a fight. But Hearn never received a response back for either one of those offers.

Even after certain terms have been met, Farmer is getting tired of hearing excuses.

“Back in 2017, he said ‘get a belt,'” said Farmer. “I got a belt. And then Floyd said ‘we ain’t worried about Tevin Farmer. He a five figure fighter.’ Now I’m making seven figures, and it’s still excuses.”
