First year Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive back Antoine Winfield Jr. (son of former NFL cornerback Antoine Winfield Sr.) gave a brief summary of his experience during his first NFL game this past Sunday. When asked about how he thought it went, Winfield responded: ” The first week went well. It was my first NFL game, so I was extremely excited just to even be out there. I felt like I left out some plays that I could’ve made, but it was a great first week and first NFL game.”

He was also asked about topics such as the idea of having to face two high level running backs in his first two career games, and how much of an asset position mate Carlton Davis III is to their secondary. Concerning Davis III as an asset, Winfield has this to say: “A huge asset – every time we’re on the field together, he’s out there talking to me and we’re just out there feeding off each other’s energy. Having Carlton out there, he’s a great leader and a great player.” When asked about the feeling of back-to-back games against stay running backs, he was up for the challenge. “I love it.” Winfield commented. “I’m a competitor. I love competing against the best. I feel like it only elevates me game. So, I’m just super excited to go out there, play, have fun and get better from it.”
