Gary Patterson gives an insight on the upcoming 2018 season for the Horned Frogs.

Gary Patterson has some of the unique coaching tactics in all of College Football. He is famous for his one of a kind treatment of his athletes. He starts the interview with an insight about how he recruits and develops his players. Rather than cutting and pasting his players into positions, Patterson makes his money off of finding the best athlete for each spot.

His next big topic was the arms race in College Football and how it is affecting the Frogs. Patterson insists that the biggest deal for the program is the future of the Big 12 and the TV deal that goes along with it. Coupled with the success of TCU, Patterson is not worried about the consequences of the arms race.

Gary Patterson then goes into the ins and outs of a lot of new rules about recruiting and red shirts that the NCAA has implemented this year. Like many other coaches, Patterson is not a huge fan of the changes. Using redshirts and leaving for the NFL early are things every coach, player and family member has to think about. At this point Coach Patterson is not going to worry about it.

The end of the interview is mostly about some of the newcomers to the Frogs. Patterson believes that there is a lot of potential for the 2018 squad. Likewise, he believes that the music choice during practices is a significant indicator of the upcoming season. Long story short, he likes their chances.
