It was all defense in College Station this past weekend. The Aggies were able to hold off Benny Snell and the Wildcats to snap their six game losing streak to Top 25 teams.

Texas A&M held Kentucky to 178 total offensive yards, and more impressively held Benny Snell to 60 yards on 13 carries, who hasn’t been able to be stopped all season.

Starting the fourth quarter, the game was tied at 7-7. The Aggies scored with 10: 13 left to play from a 46 yard pass from Kellen Mond to Jace Sternberger to take the lead. The Aggies held the Wildcats on their next drive, but this time Kentucky’s defenses stepped up when they needed to. Kentucky forced Mond to fumble, which was recovered by Kent Darius West who returned the ball 40 yards for a touchdown to tie the game with 4:17 left to play. Kyle Field was now going into overtime. The Aggie defense chose a good time to have one of their top plays of the night in overtime. Kentucky started with the ball and now faced 3rd and 2 on the 17-yard line. Kingsley Keke sacked Wilson for a loss of eight, to put the Wildcats just out of field goal range. Miles Butler missed a 43-yard field goal off the goal post to now give Texas A&M the chance to win with any score. Trayveon Williams secured the win with a ten yard run and flip into the end zone for the touchdown and the win.

Jimbo Fisher earned his first big win as an Aggie. This was also a big win for the Aggie team as a whole, as they still have to face many of the top SEC teams this season. Holding the Wildcats with Benny Snell to 178 yards is hard to do. MVP of the game was Trayveon Williams who had more yards himself than Kentucky did, with 210 all-purpose yards.
