Armstead is a big physical presence on the defensive line as he has great size and natural strength. He has good speed for a person of his stature and he has a great burst off the snap. He has a great bull rush technic and can fit very well as an end in a 3-4 scheme. Sometimes he displays a lack of production and has shown that he is not as durable as he needs to be.
