Kentucky linebacker Kash Daniels on the Wildcats historic season. A win in their final game against a 2-9 Louisville team would bring No. 17 Kentucky to nine wins on the season – the most since 1984.

With a win on this upcoming Saturday against Lousiville, the Kentucky Wildcats would accomplish something the program hasn’t done in over 20 years – win at least nine games in a season. The Wildcats gave themselves the opportunity to rewrite the history books after they picked up their eighth victory of the season against Middle Tennessee State on Senior Day, 34-23. Their eighth win of the season was the most since 2006.

In their win against MTSU, Kentucky’s Kash Daniels recorded eight total tackles and six solo tackles. Daniels could have added to his big day if he didn’t drop an interception in the game. But he has an excuse as he’s playing with a cast on his left hand after he broke that hand.

Nonetheless, Daniels will have a chance to redeem himself against a Louisville team whose starting quarterback in Jawon Pass has been more prone to throwing interceptions (12) than touchdowns (eight) this season. Also, Daniels could be part of history with a win against Louisville on the final day  of the regular season. Kentucky is favored by 17 points over the Cardinals. A win could improve Kentucky’s chances in reaching a better bowl game, and it would be the most wins since 1984. The last time Kentucky won nine games, they beat Wisconsin in the Hall of Fame Bowl.
