In an effort to start the “new look” Tampa Bay Buccaneers season off on a winning foot, the New Orleans Saints handed them a humbling Week 1 loss while demonstrating the pros and cons of an aging Tom Brady.

One of those benefactors to TB12’s positives was 4th year wide receiver Chris Godwin who accumulated 79 yards on 6 of 7 targets in Sundays game.

Monday after the game, Godwin responded to questions revolving around the lack of chemistry of the offense without the involvement of preseason games, learning a new offensive system, and correcting the mistakes surrounding timing. “I think all of it is correctable. When you look at the tape, there’s a handful of things that we did that were just bad from communication standpoint. All those things will get corrected as we learn from the film and as we just continue to play together, so I’m not particularly worried about any of that.”

When asked about his newly acquired veteran QB’s demeanor in the locker room after the game, Godwin had this to say: “It’s turning the page. He’s obviously been through a ton of football, so he recognizes that it’s just one week. Like I said, the more we work together, the better we’ll be. We’re going to fix these little things – we’re going to be good.”
