“Just thank you”, Gallagher told to his teammates as he held back tears.

“Every single guy gave everything they had, every single night through this run. You look at our group, obviously there’s a lot more talented teams. There’s a lot of teams that do a lot of things, but there’s no team that’s stronger as a group. The resiliency that we showed, just a good team to be apart of”, he finished.

In addition, Gallagher spoke on Montreal’s high expectations going into the 2021 season.

“I know we probably surpised a lot of people, but our expectations were to be the team celebrating right now. That’s why it hurts so much, we tell you guys all the time how much we believed, I wasn’t lying. We believed in this group, and like I said, just a tough pill to swallow.”

“This is the journey we needed”, Gallagher said for the Canadiens’ future.

“You take more from a loss than you do from a win. If we’re able to learn from this experience, maybe on the positive side we’re gonna be better off.”
