Dominique Ducharme Reacts to Montreal Canadiens Losing Stanley Cup: “I’m Proud of This Group”
Watch as Canadiens head coach Dominique Ducharme reacts to Stanley Cup Finals loss.
Following the emotional loss, Ducharme talked about the impressive season by Montreal, overcoming many obstacles.
“I’m proud of this group”, he told media. “I told the guys after the game, we have to grow through a lot of things. You talk about practice, you talk about injuries, scheduling, covid. Even through the playoffs, being down, being up, many things. We kept moving forward and kept getting better, so we grew as a team a lot. We gotta use that the right way, and we want to make it back here with a different result.”
In addition, Ducharme spoke on the disappointing final game in the series in 1-0 loss against Tampa.
“Well, ‘too difficult’, a match that’s 1-0 tonight, one game”, he said through translation. “We could’ve easily been back at the Bell Center like we wanted to be. It’s certain that I think that, match number 2, the way we played, we probably deserved a better result. Today it’s certain that the series would’ve still gone on, but it’s part of growing as a team.”
