USC’s anchor Kendall Ellis runs 50.0 on the 4×4 400 meter to win the NCAA Track and Field Championships.
After a snag in the baton hand off, the last leg of USC’s relay team, Kendall Ellis, began her 400m in fourth place.
Ellis began to Jolt forward into third and close in on first place Purdue. For the next 200 meters, Ellis would stay in a close third place, but the last 100 meters she would kick it into over drive. Ellis passed, at the time, second place Oregon and some how caught up to first place Purdue for a photo finish.
This NCAA Championship marked USC second time winning. Before this, the last time the Trojans won was in 2001.
