West Virginia wide receiver David Sills calls his quarterback the best in the country.

During a press conference, David Sills said West Virginia quarterback Will Grier can perform with the best of the best, adding he’s “the best in the country.”

Now, some may say that he is bias and cannot be objective when it comes to analyzing his own quarterback and that is true statement to an extent. But, do not forget that Sills has a unique perspective on assessing quarterbacks.

The West Virginia wide out played quarterback in high school and was recruited to play at that position. Not only was he recruited to play out of high school from that position, but he also committed to the University of Southern California at the young age of 13 in 2010 from an offer from Lane Kiffin. He was a wonder kid from a young age with high hopes from a young age.

After utilizing every opportunity to fulfill the hype that was heaped on him from a young age, including giving up his scholarship, he found himself a home at the wide receiver position. So, he offers a unique perspective on the ability of quarterbacks play from the view wide out and former quarterback.

Grier is an outstanding quarterback and has played well in the SEC and the Big 12, but I do not know if I can crown him the best in the country.
