Emmitt Williams scores record-breaking 44 points in the Jordan Brand Classic
Senior forward Emmitt Williams came into the 2018 Jordan Brand Classic as the 21st ranked basketball recruit in the class of 2018, but he left the game as the highest scorer in the prestigious event’s storied history. The LSU commit dropped 44 points against the best high school competition in the nation and obliterated LeBron James’ record mark of 34 points he set back 2003.
At 6-foot-6, Williams is a bit undersized for a power forward, but that hasn’t stopped him from dominating Florida high school hoops and it certainly didn’t stop him from taking over the Jordan Brand Classic.
The incoming freshman may not be a household name with casual basketball fans, but with the Tigers incumbent starting forward Duop Reath graduating, Williams will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact on the program while establishing himself as a legitimate NBA prospect.
