CFL legend Damon Allen says “it’s great” that Johnny Manziel is in the CFL.

When Canadian Football League (CFL) legend Damon Allen was asked about Johnny Manziel joining the CFL at the Joe Carter Charity event, he said it was great because it is only one step behind the NFL.

Allen, who currently is second all time in passing yards in CFL histroy, said it is better to be playing and honing your skills than to not play at all, which was “a good decision” for Johnny Football. Manziel joined the CFL in May and signed a two-year deal with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

While Manziel has been praised by his head coach June Jones saying “he should be playing in the NFL, and I believe he will,” Manziel did not start or play in the first game of the regular season. But, we all know that America loves a good story, so hopefully the “#comebackSZN” happens sooner rather than later.
