Gary Payton Talks About Playing and His “Project” Kwame Brown
3 Headed Monsters head coach Gary Payton talks about him playing and Kwame Brown.
During a press conference in Houston, Hall of Famer Gary Payton was asked by a reporter if the fans would see him lace it up one more time.
Payton answered by saying he has no reason to be out there on the hardwood because of the “great” team that is already assembled. He added jokingly that he “likes not limping and being sore.”
Payton is confident in his words because the 3 Headed Monsters performance last year when they went 6-2 and advanced to the Big 3 Championship game; unfortunately, they lost to the undefeated Trilogy for the 2017 Big 3 Championship.
The 3 Headed Monsters are returning this year with their captain Rashard Lewis, the reigning Big 3 MVP, and two other players. They added the 2017 rebounding champ Reggie Evans to their squad and gave him the position of co-captain.
The head coach also briefly talked about the subject of Kwame Brown, also known as his “project.” Payton has high hopes for Brown and we can expect to see him play next week, according to Payton, against the reigning Big 3 Champions, Trilogy. Even though Brown has been bashed on numerous occasions by ESPN personality Stephan A. Smith, Payton called him a “good project to have.”
