Nick Brossette on His Final LSU Home Game, Texas A&M & Wanting To Reach 1,000 Yards Rushing
Senior running back Nick Brossette speaks on win and final game in Death Valley.
In Nick Brossette’s last game at home, he found the end zone twice and rushed for 69 yards. To cap it off, the LSU Tigers manhandled Rice in 42-10 thrashing.
Brossette credited the coaching staff for staying with him all four years and says he is “enjoying” every last second of his senior season.
He defined his last game in Death Valley as “an unreal moment.”
The senior running back has been sitting behind players the previous three years at LSU. He has sat behind first round draft pick, Leonard Fournette, and second round draft pick, Derrius Guice. Most people would have transferred after sitting for so long, but the Baton Rouge native stayed and waited for his moment.
Before the game on Saturday, said he is made different.
“A lot of people would’ve done otherwise and transferred, but I stuck it out,” Brossette said. “I put my big boy pants on, and it’s crazy because it’s all just paying off now. It’s unreal. And I’m excited to finish the season off on a good note.”
The running back is playing pretty well, averaging 4.4 yards a carry. Brossette has two games this season with more than 120 yards and two game with more than 90 yards on the ground. And he is only 139 yards away from reaching the 1,000 yard mark.
Brossette will play his last game regular season as LSU Tiger against the the A&M Aggies.
