Buccaneers RB Leonard Fournette spoke to media following Super Bowl LV victory over Kansas City.

Fournette spoke on the key to the Buccs’ successful running game against the Chiefs.

“It wasn’t just me you know. The line, the coaches taking timeouts. We really went off the defense we’re going against. Their guys, some guys tackle low, some guys hit and miss. You just have to steady feel to understand who you’re playing against and understand your opponent”, he finished.

Fournette also talked about Tom Brady’s impact on the Buccs’ mindset prior to the game.

“It felt great, just knowing his resume and understanding why he wins. All week he made us believe we were gonna win. He was texting us at 11 o’clock at night, ‘we will win this game’. We believed in him. We believed in the playcall and just ran with it.”

“To have a guy like that next to me in the backfield, he has a resume, he understands the game. He’s played against every defense you could throw at him. We understood the first time they beat us what they threw at us and really wasn’t ready for it. The second time, he was on point. He was telling us what to expect, he was telling us they weren’t really good at tackling.”

Fournette went on to call Brady the “GOAT” and give appreciation for his leadership.

“He kept faith in us throughout the whole season. I’m just blessed to be next to this man. He’s the GOAT. He is the best football player that ever played. I can tell my kids I played with that man and I’m blessed”, he finished.

Finishing the interview, Fournette spoke on his legacy and what Superbowl LV means to him.

“It’s crazy”, he said. “It’s a great story I can tell my kids. Keeping faith, staying focus, and a whole bunch of things. It was a tough year for me. As a competitor you wanna be out there and compete. Some games, I didn’t get a chance to help anyone. I’m just blessed. I thank god man. Each and every day that the Buccs gave me a second opportunity to play the game that I love.”
