You need not wait any longer! The Brady-to-Gronk connection made its first showing of the season in a 28-point second quarter beat-down of the Green Bay Packers.

Along with a Jamel Dean pick-six to start the scoring for the Buccaneers, the endzone loft to Rob Gronkowski was a thing of beauty when it came to the shift of momentum that stemmed from this pre-halftime outburst.

“Jamel [Dean] made a hell of a play.” Tom Brady said. “He did that to us in training camp a few times, so that was a huge play. [It] sparked us, then we got another turnover, got the ball in, had a decent drive [and] got the ball in. It was good. I think not turning the ball over helped a lot [and] I think not being behind on down and distance helped a lot. But certainly [there are] better things that we can do [and] things better than what we did today. We’re going to keep working at it.”

With great tight end play from both Rob Gronkowski and Cameron Brate, the Buccaneers have successfully accumulated a plethora of rushing yards divided up between backfield members, and an above-par passing game. In reference to Gronk’s performance on Sunday, Brady summed it up by saying:

“He played great today. Got to try and keep getting him and Cam [Brate] the ball.” He continued. “The tight ends can really help us out [and] the backs can help us out. It takes pressure off the receivers and we just have to keep building and growing. There’s no light at the end of the tunnel – we just have to show up every day, try to get better, learn from the mistakes and see if we can win on the road here, which has been tough for us.”

The team also had zero penalties in Sunday’s game against the Packers. This accomplishment meant much to Brady in contribution to the win.

“I think it’s a pretty big part of every team’s success – not turning the ball over and then not committing penalties, which puts you behind down and distance, take you out of your runs and play-actions. All those hurt. You’ve got to be able to stay on track and stay ahead of down and distance. That’s the goal for the team.”

The session finished with a question directed towards receiver Scotty Miller and TB12’s trust in his abilities.

“I’ve got a lot of confidence in Scotty’s ability and he’s just got to keep doing it. I give him a lot of chances and he’s just doing a great job with it. All those guys are making plays and we’re going to have to keep improving. We’re got a tough game this week.”
