Justin Verlander Explains Decision to Return to Houston & Details His Journey Back From Tommy John
Justin Verlander has not pitched in a major league game since July 24th, 2020.
He underwent Tommy John surgery shortly after. This offseason he made the decision to return to the club that he won his first and only World Series with. He is not setting his expectations any higher or lower than he normally would. The former Cy Young winner is going to approach the season like he always does. The veteran hurler is so aware of his capabilities at this point in his career. As for his decision to stay in Houston, winning was his number 1 priority. Verlander is not going to rush into anything, but he hopes to return to the form he was in prior to surgery. The Astros remain one of the most talented teams and are on the hunt to return to another World Series.
