Chris Woodward Reacts to Shohei Ohtani Season: “It’s Remarkable. We Should All Look & Be In Awe”
Chris Woodward reacts to stellar season from Shohei Ohtani in 2-1 loss to Angels.
In 2-1 win against the Rangers, Ohtani tossed a gem to get the Angels back to .500 in the AL West. Ohtani went six innings, striking out six, and didn’t walk a single batter in what was a very strong start.
Following the loss, Rangers manager Chris Woodward reacted to Ohtani’s legendary season after taking home another player of the month honors.
“It’s remarkable,” Woodward said on Ohtani’s impressive year as a hitter and starting pitcher.
Woodward expressed his admiration for Ohtani’s ability to be elite as a two-way star.
“I can’t imagine what he has to go through every day just to prepare for a game. He’s pitching, he’s having to throw bullpens. It’s a lot of work just to prepare for that. Then, the mental and physical fatigue of playing every day, and hitting and running the bases.”
“We should all kind of look in awe,” Woodward added. “He’s doing both, and he’s got, I don’t know, 100 home runs already.”
