Even baby Phillies fans aren’t happy with their team this year
Even if you’re a still a baby in diapers, you’re allowed to be disappointed in how poorly the Philadelphia Phillies have been playing this year. I guess you could even say this PhanaticsView was a little unhappy.
In the middle of a 7th inning at-bat by Phillies centerfielder Obdubel Herrera, a mother at the game handed her baby off to the famous Phillie Phanatic mascot. No word on if the lil’ gal missed her nap time, was hungry, or was just super depressed that the MLB-worst 16-29 Phillies were down 7-0, but she started bawling. The Phanatic tried his best to calm the tyke down, but I doubt the basic mascot 101 course comes with parenting training. If it doesn’t, and you mascot trainers are reading, FanaticsView recommends not handing off little children to something straight out of Where The Wild Things Are.
After trying for a few seconds, the Phanatic hands the kid back to their mother, and viewers are left with an image that sums up the Phillies season thus far: A lot of crying, lop-sided scores and a confused onlooker doing their best to stop the sadness.
