Aaron Judge Details Gary Sanchez Bounce Back: “Gary Is Going To Have a Special Year This Year”
Aaron Judge spoke to media following Yankees spring training win against Philadelphia.
Judge spoke on Brett Gardner’s clutch grand-slam in the 2nd inning.
“That was quite a swing”, he said. “I’ve actually seen that same kind of swing and situation last year. I think he was able to clip a wheeler last year. Same kind of pitch, slider down and in right in his wheel house. That was an impressive swing by him especially in a situation like that, bases loaded, and he got us going today”, he finished.
In addition, Judge gave praise to Gary Sanchez for his improvements seen by Judge and the Yankees.
“Wow, a lot has. I can talk about the offensive side. We were coming in here working out in the off-season. Seeing the changes he was trying to make with his swing, to shorten up and make better contact and be more consistent, from day 1 of the offseason he was already trying to make changes. It was pretty amazing to see the improvements he made in just a short amount of time. On the defensive side same thing, he was coming in here every single day working on his defensive blocking, recieving, asking questions. His want and need to get better is something that’s always impressed me, he’s a hard worker. I don’t think he gets enough credit for the amount of work and hours he puts in on his craft. It’s exciting to see his success he’s having so far in spring training and looking forward to the season.”
