Gavin Sheets Reacts to Hitting His First Major League Home Run & His First Week in MLB With Chicago
Watch as White-Sox top 1B prospect Gavin Sheets reacts to call-up & hitting first homer.
“It’s been incredible”, Sheets told media after an exciting first week in the majors.
Sheets went through his at-bat against Twins’ Matt Shoemaker where he sent his first career homer 429 feet.
“I felt really comfortable against him. I saw the ball well that at-bat, I just kept telling myself to stay back a little longer. He went to sinker down, and fortunately I made the adjustment I needed to make, and put a good swing on it.”
A surreal moment for the 25 year-old, Gavin Sheets took in all the glory as he rounded the bases in a Chicago White-Sox jersey.
“The way the lights were going off and the wheels in center field, it was a fun jog that’s for sure. It’s one I haven’t done before so I took it all in.”
