Josh Bell on Returning to Hometown of Dallas-Metroplex for First Time as an MLB Player
Following the Pirates’ 6-4 victory over the Rangers, Josh Bell spoke with Fanatics View and reflected on playing his hometown team.
Bell smacked an opposite-field double in the 9th, tying the game and leading to the club’s victory over the Rangers.
“It was an unreal experience” Bell told media. “I was happy we could come away with the win”.
Bell, who grew up in Dallas, reflected on the pressure from playing in his home-town stadium.
“I just had my Grandma in the back of my head”, Bell said. “I just didn’t want to blow-up in the first game she’s seen in 10 years.”
In addition, Bell spoke on his clutch, game-tying double in the 9th,
“It was huge – I felt that support from my friends and family”, he said. “I could hear them, I knew they were watching – I cant ask for more”.
Bell finished, appreciating the time he got to spend with his family after the game.
“I was able to go home and hang out with my grandma”, the slugger said. “It’s nice to unplug and see family during the season”.
