J.R. Smith Dribbles Out Shot Clock in Game 1 of NBA Finals
Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith dribbles out clock in last seconds of tied game.
J.R. Smith dribbled out most of the 4.7 seconds of regulation in game 1 of the NBA Finals. There is a lot of speculation if he knew the game was tied or not.
After a miss on a free throw attempt by Cavaliers guard George Hill, Smith soared for the rebound and began to dribble back to the arch; it appeared that Smith began to look for an open teammate. The former six man of the year passed the ball to Hill with less than a second left on the clock for a contested three point attempt that never reach the back board.
Smith himself claims he knew they were tied, but was expecting someone to call a time out. However, his head coach Ty Lue says that he thought they were up one.
