Zach LaVine Reacts to Tokyo Olympics Opening, USA vs. France Preview & Protocols Delay to Tokyo
LaVine on his Olympic experience: “It’s eye-opening just to see the support you have from other countries”
Chicago Bulls star Zack Lavine spoke with reporters about his experience preparing for his first Olympics and what exactly his role might be on the team ahead of their opening matchup against France.
“Whatever I got to get done,” says LaVine of his role within the team.
“We’re not all going to be playing our regular starter minutes. I might come off the bench some games. I might start some games. But I’m here to bring energy, obviously. When I need to score, put the ball in the hoop. I can do that. But I’m trying to bring a lot of energy and change the pace of the game. Pick up guys (on defense), and be a menace out there.”
LaVine also spoke about his experience at the Olympics and what he’s been taking away from it so far.
“It’s eye-opening just to see the support you have from all these other countries. The respect you give each other. Knowing you are going out here still fighting for the same thing as your country and your pride as well. As athletes, I think we respect that about each other.”
