Brian Dawkins Speaks on Terrell Owens Skipping Enshrinement
Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins talks about Terrell Owens skipping enshrinement ceremony.
During a press conference in Canton, Brian Dawkins explained how he was “absolutely” disappointed that Terrell Owens opted out of attending the enshrinement ceremony with his fellow hall of famers.
Dawkins added that he would have “loved him to be here”, but he is not surprised he did not show up. Owens held his own ceremony at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. A hall of famer deciding not to participate in the enshrinement ceremony is unprecedented, but if anyone was going to go against the norm it was going to be T.O.
On the same night of the enshrinement ceremony, Owens held his own ceremony and his speech was for those who doubted him the most
“To the critics and doubters, those individuals who have smiled at my face, but defamed me behind my back,” the hall of fame wide out said. “This is for you.”
Dawkins said he talked him, but was not willing to say the details of that conversation. Dawkins ended by saying “I wish him the best.”
