Errol Spence Jr. Appreciates Fighting At Home
IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. recognizes the difference of fighting at home.
When Errol Spence Jr. was asked about how the atmosphere was after defeating Carlos Ocampo in his home city, Spence Jr. revisited his victory against Ezekiel “Kell” Brook.
With Brook, the former IBF welterweight champion, hailing from Britain, Spence Jr. fought Kell on his home turf. He would beat Kell in the 11th round to begin his current title reign. Once Kell was defeated, Spence Jr. said he turned around and he “looked out in the crowd and everyone was gone.”
The champ recognized the polar opposite differences between fighting overseas and at home. As many fans were screaming Spence Jr.’s name and trying to touch him, the champ said being able to fight in front of his fans was “satisfying.”
