Daniel Jacobs eyes Jarret Hurd & Jermall Charlo in near future
Daniel Jacobs would like to get in the ring with the best, including champions Jarrett Hurd and Jermall Charlo.
Daniel Jacobs is set to unify titles against Canelo Alvarez Saturday at the T-mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Shall Jacobs emerge as the unified middleweight champion, there are other intriguing fights to make in the division.
Although unified junior middleweight champion Jarrett Hurd may not move up to middleweight any time soon, Jermall Charlo and Daniel Jacobs have some history. Jacobs and Charlo ran into each other in the hallway at the Barclays Center about a year ago.
As Jacobs passed by, Charlo called him out on getting into the ring with him. The two then got into a brief discussion, and some chaos unfolded within the crowd between the fighters. In the end, Charlo and Jacobs shook hands, and agreed to square off in the future.
“I’ve always said that Charlo is one of the guys who was on my radar,” said Jacobs. “Obviously, our history; you would definitely wanna see that fight in the near future. When we link up, we link up. And that’s really it, there’s nothing more I can say.”
