Deontay Wilder speaks on Anthony Joshua, and taking his own path on his career.

Deontay Wilder is open to a bout with unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. While Wilder is ready to discuss business, it’s been difficult for him to comply with the terms it will take to get a deal done.

DAZN president John Skipper recently held talks with Wilder to fight on the streaming platform. An agreement would have given Wilder a shot at Joshua, who also fights under DAZN. But the talks fell apart when the terms for Joshua’s deal were not disclosed to Wilder’s team.

“A king don’t chase nobody, you know I mean?” said Wilder. “We’re tired of sitting around trying to negotiate with them. You can’t negotiate with people that don’t wanna truly negotiate. It’s impossible. We’re business people. When we come to meetings, and try to talk to people; we mean business.”

Wilder’s co-manager, Shelly Finkel also believes that his client is getting bigger, therefore his value is also increasing. When it comes to negotiating the big fights, Finkel also states that getting the fight made is a priority for them over the purse split.

“If you don’t make up all these demands, and commands; it becomes very different.” said Finkel.
