Gervonta Davis on Tevin Farmer: ‘He’s soft.’
Gervonta Davis speaks on his animosity with fellow junior lightweight champion Tevin Farmer.
WBA junior lightweight champion Gervonta Davis (20-0,19KOs) will make his first title defense against Abner Mares (31-3-1,15KOs) at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson on Feb. 9. Davis also holds a feud with IBF champion Tevin Farmer (28-4-1,6KOs), and hopes to settle it in the ring sometime.
“We was beefing at first, then I went to Philly (Farmer’s hometown),” said Davis. “We have mutual friends with Meek Mill and his homies. So I was calling around to them, was like, ‘where he (Farmer) at? I’m trying to spar now.’ And he (Farmer) wasn’t with it.”
Davis said he went back home afterward and Farmer took it to Instagram. This resulted in back-and-forth exchanges between them through the social media app.
“He’s (Farmer) soft, he’s soft.” said Davis.
