Breckyn Hager Says Tom Herman is “Building An Empire” at Texas
Longhorn football player Breckyn Hager says the head coach is “building an empire.”
Senior Longhorn linebacker Breckyn Hager is one of the few players that has been able to watch Tom Herman work. The senior linebacker says his head coach is building a “legitimate empire.”
Herman just finished his first year with the Longhorns and was able to finish 7-6, which is an improvement on the previous three years. While the football program has not relived its glory days, Hager says he is “trying my absolute hardest to be helpful in building the foundation.” The Longhorns are still in a sense in rebuild mode, with the acquisition of a new head coach.
The linebacker says that you can tell by just being around Herman and his staff you can tell that they are going to make “their mark on this entire state.” Hager added that “it is going to be a lovely time for all of us who been apart of some not so lovely times.
The University of Texas (UT) football program has been a shell of its self over the last few years. Their last double digit winning season was under Mac Brown in 2009 when they went 13-1. Since then UT had three seasons where they finished with a losing record under Charlie Strong.
