Oklahoma Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley speaks on recruiting strategies and faculties modifications.

Lincoln Riley, when talking about recruiting strategies, said one of the many components of recruiting is the “comfort factor.”

“You know, you are handing your child over to somebody,” Riley said. “You better have some comfort with them.”

According to Riley, one of the other factors that has also lead to Oklahoma’s successful recruiting is the Sooner’s historical dominance over the last two decades. The Oklahoma football program has seen multiple double digit win seasons. The head coach credits the success to part of the reason big-name recruits commit to the University of Oklahoma.

“You know, we have had some momentum and that some of the best players in the country want to play at Oklahoma,” Riley said. “Great players want to play with other great players. They want to be in those big, you know, in the games, lifting those trophies, getting those rings. They want that and so Oklahoma is one of the best place to be for that right now.”

Another facet of recruiting facet that some outsiders may overlook is a program’s faculties. Oklahoma has one of the older stadiums, but have recently upgraded the south end zone complex. The Sooners head coach says he is aware of the race between other college football programs in upgrading programs and he added that Oklahoma needs to keep “evolving.”

Oklahoma were Big 12 Champions for the 2017-2018 season and in the running for the College Football Playoffs Championship before they were knocked out of in the first round against the Georgia Bulldogs; do not be surprised if they are in a similar spot this upcoming season.
