J.K. Dobbins says Buckeyes Should Be Ranked #1 Headed into the College Football Playoff
After defeating the Wisconsin Badgers in the B1G 10 Championship game, star running back J.K. Dobbins was as confident as ever in his team. Dobbins logged 33 carries for 172 yards and a touchdown, leading his team to victory in Lucas Oil Stadium.
Though fans and bettors may have started to doubt the Buckeyes as they trailed Wisconsin by two scores at halftime, no one in the Ohio State locker room quit. J.K commented on the number of leaders in the locker room saying, “guys like me Chase, Johnathan Cooper, C.J. Sanders, everybody, we got a lot of leaders on this team.”
Evidently that amount of leadership built great belief in the rest of the squad. On their ability to come back from that deficit Dobbins said, “We had a lot of confidence, we didn’t doubt for one second.” The Buckeyes will look to have that same confidence heading into their match-up with Clemson in the College Football Playoff.
Just like his quarterback, Dobbins believes the Buckeyes have done more than any other to be recognized as the number one team in the nation. Dobbins scoffed at whether or not Ohio State has earned the ranking, stating “Yes, I think we’ve earned that, we’ll see though.” He also pointed to his team’s mental fortitude and ability to adapt against all challengers in every situation.”We don’t give up, we just keep on winning.”
All of Ohio will be hoping the team does just that in their upcoming Fiesta Bowl match-up against the undefeated Clemson Tigers.
