Justin Fields can’t believe how far his Buckeyes have come after Ohio State’s BIG 10 Championship Win
After defeating the Wisconsin Badgers 34-21 in B1G 10 Championship Game Win, Quarterback Justin Fields was stunned at how far his team had come.
The Sophomore threw for 299 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead Ohio State to a come from behind victory.
Fields gushed over his teammates and coaches saying “Me personally, I didn’t think it would be like this. But just as I spent more and more time around the coaches, and the players, I got more confident in this team and what we can accomplish.”
He certainly has established a strong bond with first-year Ohio State Coach Ryan Day. Fields stated “(Day) is a great coach, great person too, we not only play for him but have great personal relationships with him.”
The 20-year old Heisman Finalist certainly believes his team deserves to keep the #1 ranking heading into the College Football Playoff. However, the Buckeyes main concern going in the Playoff will certainly be the status of their star quarterback’s knee.
According to Justin Fields, the knee he injured against Michigan is good to go. “There was probably a few cuts where it hurt a bit, but after that it was all good.” Fields ailment hardly seemed to effect him against one of the nations top defenses. He did later explain he felt like some of the discomfort caused him to leave some throws on the field saying, “I feel like it did (affect some missed throws). I’m not making excuses for any of the throws, but definitely feel like it did.”
Ohio State and their star quarterback will now prepare for their Fiesta Bowl match-up with the Clemson Tigers. If Justin Fields can remain healthy, there’s no end to the Buckeyes journey in sight.
