Barry Trotz Reviews New York Islanders 8-0 Loss vs. Tampa & Mathew Barzal Game Misconduct
Watch as Islanders coach Barry Trotz speaks to media following devastating loss against Tampa.
In game 5 of the Stanley Cup semi-finals, the Lighting put a beat down on New York. Coach Barry Trotz shared some words following the 8-0 loss.
“It was one of those nights where we couldn’t do anything right. It didn’t go our way and just was a tough one.”
After a demoralizing game 5, Trotz discussed how the Islanders can battle back to tie the series.
“We can fix a lot of the things that we put ourselves into today. We’re gonna have to have our best game. They’ve been here before, we’ve been here before, and we’re gonna have to have our best effort from every player on our team..”
In addition, Trotz commented on Mathew Barzal’s 2nd period ejection after crosschecking Jan Rutta in the face.
“I’m disappointed”, Trotz said. “It wasn’t going well and you just short of dug it a little deeper for the guys. Usually what happens, the biggest concern you have as a coach when you do something like that, guys have to block shots, you lose another guy because they’re battling through it. I am disappointed in his decision there”, he finished.
